Santos clearing mud from his home. You can see that the level has dropped over the course of nearly a week. But still, there's lots of mud!
One thing that may not be apparent from the photo is that this structure (two unconnected rooms that are each about 10x12) stands out in Jaibalito as a very nice home. The majority of the houses there are made of adobe bricks and have mud floors. More charming to an outsider's eye, perhaps, but not nearly so comfortable of strong as the cinder block contruction.
